Popcaan goes Platinum in Silence

The 'Unruly' boss, born Andre Hugh Sutherland, on Wednesday July 13, 2021 once again made the entire Jamaica proud by going platinum for the work he put in on Intercourse, track eleven of Megan Thee Stallion's 2020 album titled Good News, according to data collected by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The St. Thomas representative Popcaan continues to prove his worth to not only Jamaican music and its people, but on the global space Numbers Dont Lie, as the award of an RIAA platinum represents over one million copies of the album sold in the United States alone, all while appearing alongside the likes of Beyonce and Big Sean;

not to mention his own Fixtape project that boasted a collaboration with long time associate Drake, who notably made an appearance at the 876 Gad's very own Unruly Fest which is hosted annually in St. Thomas, Jamaica.

This adds a platinum plaque to the Deejay's award of gold for the remix of the Good Times project that featured Jamie Foxx and Young Thug; along with individual awards such as two consecutive MOBO (Music of Black Origin) awards for Best Reggae Act in 2015 and 2016, three IRAWMA awards and the U- Roy award for Best Male DeeJay.

The artiste closed out the week among the leaders in views for YouTube Jamaica.
